Enable/Disable Windows Aero

Windows Server 2008 supports the Windows Aero user interface experience. However, by default, Windows Aero is not turned on in Windows Server 2008. Also, Windows Server 2008 does not include Windows Aero-capable graphics drivers. To enable Windows Aero, you must obtain graphics drivers from a third-party vendor or from the graphics adapter manufacturer. To enable Windows Aero, follow these steps:

 1. Click on the Start button and select 'Run'
 2. Type in 'services.msc' then click 'OK'
 3. Right-click on Themes and select 'Properties'
 4. In the Startup type list, click on 'Automatic'
 5. Click 'Apply' then 'Start' then 'OK'
 6. Right-click on a blank space of the Desktop and select 'Personalize'
 7. In the Personalization dialog box click on 'Window Color and
    Appearance'
 8. In the Color scheme list click on 'Windows Aero then click 'OK'
